So the final verdict is, off to the frog pond, rip-it, rip-it, rip-it. I am using it as a learning experience for this sock and plan to further my education with the next sock by knitting a toe-up on two circulars stockinette with plain ribbing sock.
On to other knitting, I am playing with different versions of my K1P1 Preemie hat. It is something to do while taking breaks and cooling off from laboring on our property.

The second item was the Two Meausres of Joy bag which we then felted. It is an Elann.com pattern http://www.elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=187024 . We made it smaller than a tote so it can be used as a purse. Now I have to embroider the notes of the first two measures of Ode to Joy on it.

I have knit one side of the bag using Black Wool-ease yarn. Overall I would rate it as a fast but boring knit. I intend to slightly change the assembly and maybe knit a flap to close the top. I do intend to make some black suedecloth straps, no vinyl for this purse. Of course I will put in lots of pockets in the lining.
The other bag I've started is called Percy. http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall07/PATTpercy.html
I am using all cotton Sinfonia from Hobby Lobby in a chocolatey brown color. It is tight knit on US 3 needles so it will take me a while to finish.
